Light + Building Statement From Messe Frankfurt: No Postponement, No Cancellation

A statement came from Messe Frankfurt about the claims about the lighting fair Light + Building, which will take place in Frankfurt, Germany between 8-13 March 2020. According to the statement, all measures were taken against the coronavirus outbreak. The event will take place as planned, there is no postponement or cancellation.

Recently, it was announced that the Mobile World Congress, which was planned to take place in Barcelona, was canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak. After this decision, all eyes in the lighting industry were turned into Light + Building.

696 company from Germany, 393 company from China, 235 company from Italy, 137 company from Hong Kong, and 107 company from Turkey are exhibitors of the fair and thousands of people plan to visit the event. A statement came from the organization company Messe Frankfurt about this giant event.

Necessary measures were taken in the fair area and inspections are continuing. The statement underlines that there are no health threats in the exhibition area. There is no sanction for companies to participate in the fair from China and the East Asia.

“Dear participant,

Due to the coronavirus outbreak that has been on the agenda all over the world recently, many of our participants are sharing their concerns about the Light + Building 2020 fair. We especially wanted to reach you in order to give you detailed information and answer the questions in your mind. Below you can find important information on the subject:

• Light + Building 2020 fair will be held between 8-13 March 2020 as planned. There is no delay.
• In line with the instructions given by the official health institutions, all necessary precautions have been taken in the fair area and inspections are continuing regularly.
• There are no epidemic threats at the Frankfurt fairground. As with any organization, it is ready for healthcare teams and clinical emergencies at the fairground.
• The health teams working in the fair area will continue their work with a special care in order not to spoil the hygienic conditions.
• Currently, there is no sanction decision for companies that will participate in the fair from China and the East Asia.
• None of our participants from Turkey has a cancellation request. There is no information that reaches us about foreign participants.
• Since no exceptional situation has been declared that prevents participation in Light + Building 2020, the standard cancellation procedure will be applied to the participants requesting cancellation.
