The Light + Building fair is expected to take place from September 27 to October 2, 2020. However, there has not yet been an official announcement by the fair’s organizing company, Messe Frankfurt.
With the statement made on Monday, it was announced that the Light + Building fair, which will be held between 8-13 March 2020, was postponed to September due to the coronavirus outbreak. Since the new date was not finalized, a date was marked between mid-September and the end.
In the process following the postponement decision, the exhibitors and visitors who wanted to change the flight tickets and hotel reservations, put the Light + Building social media accounts in the rain of questions. However, fair officials stated that the new date of Light + Building will be determined by the end of the week at the latest.

Despite the postponement of the fair due to the coronavirus, Turkish Airlines refrains from canceling pre-purchased tickets by stating that there is no health threat in Germany and not an obstacle to travel. Most of the hotels in Frankfurt were “unable to cancel” because of the occupancy. Hotels do not consider the postponement decision of the fair as a valid reason for cancellation. Hotels are willing to help with the reservation date change, but visitors cannot make changes because the new date is not officially announced.
